Wig Care
At ZaZou Dolls, every wig is designed to bring your dolls to life. With a little care, your wig can remain beautiful for many years. Please follow the care instructions below based on the type of fibre your wig is made from.
Heat-Safe Synthetic Wig Care
Our premium heat-safe synthetic wigs are crafted from high-quality fibres designed to look and feel incredibly realistic while being easy to maintain.
Daily Care
- Gently brush before and after use using a wide-tooth comb or wig brush.
- Always begin brushing at the ends and work upwards towards the cap.
- Hold the wig near the cap while brushing to reduce stress on the fibres.
- Store your wig on a doll or wig stand when not in use to help maintain its shape.
Avoid Friction
Synthetic fibres can develop frizz over time through normal wear.
To minimise frizz:
- Avoid excessive brushing.
- Keep hair away from rough fabrics such as Velcro or coarse clothing.
- Avoid rubbing against doll stands or accessories.
- Handle braids and curls gently.
Washing
Only wash your wig when necessary.
- Fill a bowl with cool or lukewarm water.
- Add a small amount of sulphate-free shampoo or synthetic wig shampoo.
- Gently swish the wig through the water.
- Do not rub, scrub or twist the fibres.
- Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
- Apply a small amount of conditioner (optional) to the mid-lengths and ends.
- Rinse well.
- Gently blot with a towel.
Never wring or twist the wig.
Allow to air dry naturally on a wig stand.
Heat Styling
Our heat-safe fibres can be styled, but heat should always be used cautiously.
We recommend:
- Maximum temperature: 80–120°C (175–250°F)
- Always test a small hidden section first.
- Use the lowest temperature that achieves the desired style.
- Never use boiling water.
- Never expose the fibres to excessive heat.
Overheating can permanently damage synthetic fibres.
Restyling
To smooth flyaways:
- Lightly mist with water.
- Comb gently.
- Use low heat if required.
For curls or waves:
- Wrap sections around rollers.
- Apply gentle heat.
- Allow to cool completely before removing rollers.

Long-term exposure to UV light may fade colours.
